Shame followed with anger and frustation are too small for what happened on the eve of Holi on 22nd March at my society in kalyaninagar premises!
I am wondering if people are aware and yet quite, or people are as shocked as I am and hence quite!
Ok so for all of you who are unaware of what happened on the holi day, I will provide you with all the detail, before a mild story is cooked up blaming poor tenants who were also victims of the incident.
At around 1:10 pm roughly, a young couple, residents of B block 8th floor, living as tenants, drove into our society.
While the guy was parking his car, a yellow lancer, adjacent to B block, near entrance of basement parking, 15 drivers surrounded the car and came near the front passenger side of the car.
They started touching the girl, and said they all wanted to play Holi with her!
Shocking, not yet!
When the girl and the guy refused, they opened the door of the car and pulled out the young girl forcibly !
There were 15 drivers, all drunk beyond their wits, faces colored blue black !
The poor girl was too scared and was trying to fight off the hands trying to touch her and pleading n sobbing! Meanwhile the guy got down in anger and ran to save his friend.
The drunk drivers started hitting the guy, while a few still were trying to get a chance with the girl.
After a few minutes a resident of A block, Mr H saw this and ran to help the girl and the guy. Mr N ran and got 2-3 security men from the gate. But look at the irony , the drivers told the security guards sternly to stay aways from this situation, and they went away, leaving Mr N to fight alone!
He slapped a few guys and helped the girl in the process to run away to her home in B Block !
The drivers then started hitting Mr N and the boy. The site engineer, who also had had a few sips along with the drivers, realizing the seriousness, tried to stop , but was pushed away. Then the estate Manager, walked in and also tried to stop the goons.
Meanwhile Mr S of F block, managed to pull Mr N from the clutches of drunk drivers. And saved him from meeting serious injuries.
Later the boy from B block and Mr N went and lodged a police complaint at ramwadi chowki and came back with the police. Mr N asked the other residents standing there, if the would like to go with him to the police station?
But no one went with him!
They got 4 policemen with them, The police dispersed the drivers gang by lathi-charging!
Of the fifteen drivers, three are still in the lock up. One of the drivers has threatened that they will see My N. That same driver also said that he will talk only when his lawyer is around ! (do any of us have a lawyer ready..)
Some immediate questions that we all have to answer!
1) Who’s drivers were these, the employers have to find that out themselves, if their drivers were involved that day!
2) Why were these drivers drinking in the Sky Lounge Premises?
3) If they were on duty, they should not be drunk; if off duty what were they doing in our society?
4) I have come to know of another sad fact, that all these drivers, especially from C/D block used to play cards and there are many a times they would not even get up to let a resident park the car.
5) If the drivers had to play Holi , why did they choose our society, why did they not play in their own areas?
6) How come these drivers got so powerful and shameless?
7) Hope the employers of all these 15 drivers are aware at least now of the characters of their drivers, and will sack them with effect 22nd March 2008.
8) The drivers first went to C /D building to play Holi with all ladies and girls by knocking their doors ! Why the hell are the husbands of the wives keeping quite still, with whom the drivers tried to play Holi ?
9) When the drivers were beating the resident Mr N, only one resident had the guts to come up and fight back the drivers!
Why didnt others, who were watching , did not beat the hell out of each driver?
The names of the residents who were watching cowardly the whole act I am not disclosing as of now, but will be forced to do so in case of no strong action is taken against the drivers in this week. The names are straight from the victims mouth hence 100% assurance of each name I have! ….contd

Whether one accepts it or not, our society is highly hypocritical. right from younger ages, we separate boys and girls. Girls have separate seats in buses, separate queues (some parts of india are exception to this), and we are now trying to bring a quota system on gender basis.
This separation, unknowling sows a sort of attraction towards opposite sex. Adding to the woes are indian cinema. Invariably, all the herioines in the film falls in love with the hero who eve-teases her earlier. This conveys a wrong message as if eve-teasing is heroism.
Another aspect is censor ship that has no meaning. The more we try to ban a thing, it creates a curiosity. This curiosity leads the new generation in wrong ways, courtesy, websites that are notorious for this.
Punishing such perverts will never bring an end to such issues. Why these guys have become perverts? Let us think on this. Who failed here? the system of education, the society or the people?
A psychological angle makes it clear that these drivers would have been made to realize that this girl is beyond their reach. This created a spark and it got ignited during holi. I am not supporting those drivers. I am trying to theorize the reason for such pervert-behavior.
Knowingly or unknowingly, all of us have a contribution towards this. indeed a subject needs to be debated at length.

Such incidents effectively kill the festive spirit and mar the celebrations. Your society should take strong measures and ensure better security for the residents.

Yes cine media is definitely one to be blamed. As when they show crime being comitted, they aso show the helpnessness and cowardness of people! They should on the contrary show people with courage who fight the crime when commited and not wait for a hero always to recue them out.
thanks for the comments

shame on us and our society? how to stop such perverts? i would blame the cine media for the spoil as violence is glorified as heroism. We stopped teaching value lessons in our schools long back. Even teachers have a ball with students and guzzle liqor. slowly we will go to the olden days where ladies would dare not to come out and this will become a culture after a century!
The cycle is coming one more round. thats it!
